Dr. Maxine Greene

Manhattanville College welcomed Dr. Maxine Greene, an accomplished professor and philosopher, on September 26th.  As part of the School of Education’s Distinguished Lecturer Series, she gave a lecture entitled Imagination in the Classroom: Realizing Possibility

Dr. Greene is the founder of the ‘Maxine Greene Foundation for Social Imagination, the Arts, and Education’, which directs its primary attention to the intersections among various modes of social action and engagements with the arts.   She is also professor of philosophy and education and the William F. Russell Professor in the Foundations of Education (Emerita) at Teachers College, Columbia University.

The lecture was held in the West Room of the Castle at 4:20-5:20pm.  A reception followed.
