Orientation Advisors
ORIENTATION ADVISOR POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Orientation Advisors (OA’s) will play a vital role in the planning and implementation of Orientation 2007. As a member of the Orientation staff, OA’s perform many tasks associated with our two orientation programs, such as serving as a peer advisor, leading small group meetings, and handling various administrative duties. OA’s must have good communication skills, be responsible, mature, self-initiating, flexible, friendly and hard working.
Responsibilities:
Assist in many administrative and programming aspects of coordinating both of the 2007 Orientation Programs
Represent Manhattanville College to new students and parents
Perform other duties assigned by the Director of Student Activities and the Orientation Chairs
Necessary qualifications:
Full-time undergraduate student who will be returning in the Fall 2007
Minimum GPA of 2.5
In good academic and social standing
Be able to work 6/17-6/25 and/or 8/16-8/24, during selected times during Welcome Week, and during training dates, including nights and weekends without any conflict
Due to the time commitment, OA’s may not be Resident Assistants or be enrolled in summer courses
Compensation:
Housing provided on campus whenever working on Orientation
Meals during all Orientation activities, including training
Application process:
Return completed application, via email, to the Office of Student Activities by Wednesday, April 5th.
Selected Orientation Advisors will receive a letter from the Director of Student Activities and Orientation Chairs, via email, prior to the completion of the Spring 2007 semester.
