Luis Nadal will graduate in 2008 with a double major in Computer Science and Math. Originally from the Dominican Republic, he decided to apply to Manhattanville after representatives from the admissions office visited his high school in Santo Domingo. “I had been thinking about applying to a few other schools in the United States but Manhattanville was offering the best scholarships and I was more interested in the types of activities that are offered here,” he said.
Luis’s favorite classes are Intermediate Microeconomics and TV Production. As part of the TV Production class, Luis recently started working on the campus TV news show YNOT NEWS as an anchor and interviewer. This year he is also the campus team manager for Manhattanville’s volleyball team. During his time at the college he has helped out in many capacities, including Resident Advisor, tutor, assistant in the Resident Life Office, Admissions Office, and to the Webmaster. Although he has a rigorous academic and work schedule, Luis has also made it a point to make time for community service activities. He has participated in Midnight Run and the Sprout Creek Farm activities in association with the Duchesne Center. Luis enjoys keeping busy and appreciates the advantages that these different experiences will give him. “I like that there are always different things that I can do,” he said. “I wish I had the time to do more!” Luis hopes to be involved with computer programming for an I.T. department after graduation.
