Manhattanville College Radiologic Technology Program Receives 8-year Accreditation
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
PURCHASE, NY, October 31, 2022 – Manhattanville College School of Nursing and Health
Science’s Radiologic Technology program has been awarded an 8-year accreditation,
the maximum duration allowed, by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic
Technology (JRCERT).
Manhattanville graduated its first Radiologic Technology class in May with an impressive
100 percent of the class passing the national certification exam and 100 percent being
placed in jobs after graduation.
“This accreditation will ensure that our current and future students will have the
same opportunities for success,” said Debra Simons, Ph.D., R.N., C.C.M.R., dean of
the School of Nursing and Health Sciences at Manhattanville. “Congratulations and
thank you to Program Director Thai Chan-Grullon. None of this would have been possible
if not for the tireless efforts of our dedicated Radiologic Technology faculty and
staff.’’
“Radiologic Technology is a growing field offering Manhattanville students great career
opportunities,” said Interim President Louise Feroe, Ph.D. “Employment data projections
show strong growth potential for Radiologic Technologists with 30,000 new jobs expected
by 2026. It’s been extremely popular even in the short time we have offered it.”
The JRCERT is the only agency recognized by the United States Department of Education
(USDE) and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) for the accreditation
of traditional and distance delivery educational programs in radiography, radiation
therapy, magnetic resonance, and medical dosimetry.
Radiologic technologists earn a median annual salary of $61,240, making it attractive
to students looking for careers in health care. The Bachelor of Science (BS) in Radiologic Technologies (Rad Tech) is a four-year 122 credit program registered with the New York State Department
of Education (NYSED).
