Lisa Beck

Dr. Lisa Beck is an assistant professor of early childhood and childhood education. Lisa joined the School of Education faculty in 2023 and is thrilled to be part of an institution that is so thoughtful about, and responsive to, the needs of our students. Lisa has been in the field of education for over 20 years and has worked in a variety of interesting settings. Highlights include being the director of a parent cooperative nursery school, working as a full-time lecturer at Teachers College, and supporting the Pre-K for All rollout in New York City. While Lisa has a passion for teaching and learning at every level, she has a particularly soft spot for children under the age of 5, who often get overlooked in larger conversations about policy and practice.
