In this four-year undergraduate program, you’ll explore topics like:

The BS in Environmental Science incorporates core topics in ecology, chemistry, and biology alongside a well-rounded general education curriculum.
In addition to taking courses building necessary laboratory skills, you’ll choose electives that offer a deeper understanding of the discipline and complete your education with a capstone course supporting career development.

- One co-requisite course in scientific math applications
- Four environmental science electives of choice

The environmental science curriculum covers critical issues and ecological concepts, both in how ecosystems function and how they are affected by human activities. Supported by the necessary scientific and mathematical foundations and general education requirements, graduates of the BS in Environmental Science will be able to:
- Write clear, concise research papers with well-constructed hypotheses, scientific methodology (introduction, methods, results, and conclusions), correct in-text citation, and analysis of primary and secondary sources, and evaluate and apply information in these sources to a specific research question or topic.
- Make oral presentations confidently and professionally to an audience of their peers, mentors, and colleagues.
- Understand quantitative reasoning as it applies to learning skills in the environmental sciences, understanding the process of the scientific method, and implementing this in their laboratory and class projects at the introductory level as well as in advanced biology electives.
