Accelerated Pathway to Doctor of Medicine (MD)

Accelerated Pathway to MD (APMD) agreement that enables qualified students to earn both a bachelor’s degree from Manhattanville and a Doctor of Medicine (MD) from WAUSM in as few as six years. 

The pathway integrates Manhattanville’s pre-health preparation and advising with WAUSM’s progressive MD curriculum, small-class mentorship, and U.S.-based clinical clerkships – streamlining the journey to medical school while maintaining academic excellence.

Pathways to earn your Doctorate of Medicine (MD) at WAUSM through Manhattanville 

Highly motivated students begin their academic journey at Manhattanville, progressing through their undergraduate studies with the guidance of the Pre-Health Professions Advisory Committee (PHPAC) and dedicated pre-health advisors. This structured support ensures students stay on track with prerequisites, timelines, and medical school preparation.

There are two pathways towards earning your MD through this partnership:

  • Traditional 4-Year Track: For students following a standard academic timeline, earning their bachelor's in four years before progressing to WAUSM's MD Program. 
  • Accelerated 6-Year Track: For students who want to complete their bachelors degree in 3 years, and following the outlined progression standards set by Manhattanville and WAUSM;  allowing completion of both degrees in six years.

What do you need to be considered  

  • Apply and be accepted to Manhattanville University as a Biology, Biochemistry, or Neuroscience major
  • Be invited by the Manhattanville admissions committee to apply to the Accelerated MD program
  • Interview with the WAUSM admissions committee
  • If selected, receive your dual acceptance to WAUSM and Manhattanville
