Manhattanville’s MS programs are graduate-level training for those wishing to expand their career growth opportunities or earning potential and those seeking a career shift to a family nurse practitioner or nurse leader role.
Graduates of the School of Nursing and Health Sciences’ master's programs become eligible to pursue board certification by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANPCB) or American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or pursue New York State Licensure as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP).

Online Nursing at Mville
Graduate Programs
Students may apply to Manhattanville by completing the Manhattanville Online Application.
Students wishing to take summer classes prior to their first semester, may do so as a non-degree student.
Admission requirements for the online Family Nurse Practitioner master’s program include:
- BS or BSN degree in Nursing from an accredited institution
- Registered Nurse license
- Evidence of successful completion of a statistics course
- No GRE, Miller Analogy, or other standardized test required for admission
- Demonstrated experience in direct patient care must be gained prior to practicum
Along with your completed application, please submit the following:
- Official transcripts from previously-attended educational institutions
- Personal statement
- Professional resume
- Three letters of recommendation from individuals who can attest to academic or professional performance
- $75 Non-Refundable Application Fee

For admission into Manhattanville’s online Master of Science in Nursing, Nurse Leader degree program, students must fulfill the following requirements:
- Hold a bachelor’s degree
- Hold a current unencumbered nursing license
- 3.0 GPA
Along with your completed application, please submit/consider the following:
- Provide official transcripts from all previously attended institutions
- Completed an undergraduate or graduate statistics course with a B or higher
- Provide evidence of professional nursing experience in direct patient care before practicum
- Submitted online application
- Official transcripts from all educational institutions attended
- Professional resume
- Personal statement
- Three letters of recommendation from persons other than friends or family
members (who can speak to one’s performance in an academic or
professional setting)
In addition to the domestic graduate applicant requirements, the following is required for international transfer applicants:
- Proof of English Proficiency by providing one of the following
Graduate applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
Upon receipt of all all required documents, the admission committee will render an
admission decision within three to five business days.
FALL APPLICANTS
Admission decisions will start being mailed home in early February.
The priority deadline to apply is August 1.
Applications will continue to be considered for admission through the first week of
fall classes.
SPRING APPLICANTS
Admission decisions will start being mailed home in October.
