Advanced Family Nurse Practitioner Program Overview
The online Advanced Family Nurse Practitioner Certificate Program provides the nurse,
holding a Master’s degree in nursing, the opportunity to acquire an in-depth theoretical
understanding of advanced nursing practice with individuals. Upon completion of the
program, the graduate will be eligible to sit for the American Nurses Credentialing
Center and the American Academy of Nurse Practitioner examinations.
Manhattanville University School of Nursing and Health Sciences (SNHS) will host an
accreditation visit by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) on February
24 - 26, 2025.The purpose of the visit is to seek continuing nursing accreditation of the Family
Nurse Practitioner (FNP) Master of Science and initial accreditation for the FNP Advanced
Certificate program.
In accordance with the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) accreditation
procedures, interested parties may submit written comments concerning a program’s
qualifications for accreditation. Written third party comments regarding the SNHS
FNP Master of Science program and/or the FNP Advanced Certificate program must be
received by CCNE no later than February 3, 2025. Only signed comments are accepted
by CCNE.
CCNE shares their-party comments with members of the evaluation team prior to the
visit, but at no time during the review process are these comments shared with the
program. During its review of the program, the evaluation team considers third-party

Program Information
We are currently enrolling only for Fall and Spring terms. To begin the Advanced FNP program, you must be:
A graduate of an accredited master’s program in nursing
Licensed as a registered nurse in New York State
Have an undergraduate cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
Provide evidence of successful completion (a grade of B or higher) of a 3 credit statistics
course
No prior RN experience is required to begin program
No standardized admissions test (GRE or Miller Analogy) is required
Evidence of professional nursing experience in direct patient care is required prior
to enrollment in Practicum
Please note that the advanced certificate will only be offered in Summer 2025.
