Welcome Letter from President Sánchez and Student Body President, Aela Mansmann
This joint letter comes to you from Manhattanville University President Dr. Frank Sánchez and Student Body President, Aela Mansmann.
Dear Manhattanville Students,
May we be the first to welcome you back to another exciting academic year at Manhattanville University! We hope this letter finds you well-rested, rejuvenated, and ready to start your 2024-25 academic year filled with learning, growth, and new experiences.
As we open our doors once again, we wanted to take a moment to share with you some exciting updates from the Summer:
Enrollments are up! For the third consecutive year, we will experience enrollment growth! In fact, we are anticipating welcoming nearly 180 new undergraduate and graduate students, in addition to our first-year class, this fall as more students choose Manhattanville as their institution of choice!
Welcome to Wells students! Please join us in welcoming students from Wells College to our Valiant community! To make their transition to Manhattanville as seamless as possible, we are creating a Wells Student Advisory Board for Wells students to receive information and communicate directly with our Administration.
More programming for students! We have united our Office of Residence Life, Center for Student Involvement and Leadership (CSIL), and the Center for Inclusion (CFI) within Student Affairs under the guidance of Dean of Students, Susan Boyd. This change responds to student feedback for increased support for our diverse student populations. By consolidating these resources, we can better serve our community and provide enhanced programming to support and celebrate diversity on campus. Start by joining us for the remainder of this year’s Welcome Week programming including our Involvement Fair on Sept. 4 from 12pm to 2pm in the Berman Center lobby and lawn!
New International Opportunities! We have recently aligned International Student Services with Academic Advising to better meet the advising needs of our International Students. And now, you can study abroad in Italy! Spend a semester in Florence, Italy with “Wells in Florence.”
SGA is on the Move! Our Student Government Association reestablished student elections this past year and experienced record participation in student programming on campus. Download the app “Modern Campus Involve” to stay up to date with SGA initiatives and other campus programming!
This list of updates is just the beginning! We look forward to seeing the incredible things we are able to accomplish this year. On behalf of the entire administration, faculty, staff, and Student Government, we wish you a successful, enriching, and inspiring academic year.
Always Forward, Always Valiant.
Dr. Sanchéz and Aela Mansmann
