Alexis Romero Walker
Dr. Alexis Romero Walker (they/them) received their PhD in Media and Communication Studies from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. There they wrote their dissertation titled Critical Media Literacy, Performance, & Queerness: Making Media & Journalism Classrooms More Inclusive Through Transformed Media Pedagogies. Before attending UNC, they received their MA in Media Literacy from Sacred Heart University and their BA in Media Arts from Brigham Young University - Utah.
Dr. Romero Walker is also a Senior Research at the Geena Davis Institute on Gender in Media where they assist in publishing research reports about representation in film, television, and advertising.
