Lauren Raubaugh
Fall 2021 was Dr. Lauren Raubaugh’s first semester at the University as visiting assistant professor of TESOL/Foreign Languages/Bilingual Education. Prior to joining Manhattanville, she spent nine years teaching ESL/EFL to students of all ages and proficiency levels in the United States, Ecuador, China, Indonesia (as a Fulbright ETA) and Vietnam. Dr. Raubaugh has presented her own research as well as grant research across various venues in the state of Florida (2017-2018) as well as at TESOL International (2018-2019). She has also published articles for TESOL Journal (2019), the Florida Journal of Educational Research (FERA; 2019), and The Journal of Language Identity & Education (JLIE, 2021) and contributed written material and research to the instructional book “Show, Tell, Build” (published by Harvard Education Press, 2018). Her principal research interests include culturally responsive practice and pedagogy (CRP), improving pre-service and in-service teacher PD, critical policy analysis, identity formation and communities of practice (CoPs), and action research with practical implications for innovative teaching strategies.
