Umbreen Iqbal
Dr. Iqbal is an Assistant Professor of Psychology at Manhattanville University with
more than 10 years of teaching experience. She earned her MS in Psychometry and her
PhD in School Psychology from Mississippi State University, Starkville and has been
teaching courses including Counseling theory and Practice, Research Methods in Psychology,
General Psychology, Child Psychology, Developmental Psychology, Abnormal Psychology,
Personality theory, Psychology of learning, Psychological testing, History of Psychology,
Cognitive Psychology, Lifespan Human growth & development, Clinical Psychology, Biological
bases of mental illness, Psychopharmacology, & Consumer behavior.
Before coming to Manhattanville, Dr. Iqbal served as full time instructor of Psychology
at Housatonic Community College, and as an adjunct faculty member at Cameron University,
Lawton, Oklahoma as well as Iona College, New Rochelle, NY, where she taught similar
courses to a diverse group of students. Dr. Iqbal has also taught courses in multiple
institutions internationally. Her research interests include ethical behavior in research
and practice, behavioral and academic interventions, impact of mental health and happiness
on investment decisions and risk taking, in addition to conducting collaborative research
internationally. Dr. Iqbal has also done field work and practice in United States
as well as Internationally.
