All students who submit a deposit and application by March 20th 11:59pm est will receive a room selection number on March 21st. The room selection number will be used to generate your room selection time.

Room Selection Number Ranges:

Rising Seniors and Graduates  3000-3999
Rising Juniors 2000-2999

Rising Sophomores

(New First-time students who were admitted Fall 2022 or Spring 2023)

1000 - 1999

Manhattanville College determines class standing by the total number of credits a student has earned. Class standing for Room Selection is determined by the number of credits a student has earned, plus the number of credits a student is attempting for the Spring semester. The credit ranges are listed below:

Rising Seniors 60+ Credits
Rising Juniors 30-59 Credits
Rising Sophomores (New First-time students who were admitted Fall 2022 or Spring 2023) Less than 29 Credits

For Example: Student A has earned 24 credits. They are currently taking 12 credits. They have 24 credits that would be used to determine their class standing for room selection. They would be a Rising Sophomore.

All students who receive a room selection number will be eligible to form roommate groups at www.mville.edu/myhousing. Select "Room & Roommate Selection" from the menu, then select "Select a Roommate". All buildings will be selected by "suite". For the purposes of room selection, a "suite" means any grouping of rooms that share a common space or bathroom.

Students can form groups of 2 or 3 for Founder's Hall, or 4 or 6 for Dammann Hall & 4 Tenney Hall. There are a limited number of 4 Person suites in Dammann Hall & Tenney Hall. Please keep this in mind and manage your own expectations. Tenney Hall will be 4 person suites and be available to rising seniors and graduate students. Your group must be formed with the majority seniors or graduates in order to live in Tenney.

All roommate groups will receive a Group Selection time on March 31, 2023. This Group Selection Time is based on an average of the room selection numbers of the students in the group.

Any member of the roommate group can select on behalf of the group during their group selection time. The student who selects on behalf of the group will have the ability to assign students to individual spaces.

There are four phases of Room Selection, which occur on different days:

Hall Suite Type
Founder's Hall 2 Person (1 Single room & 1 Single Room)
Founder's Hall 3 Person (1 Single Room & 1 Double Room)
Dammann Hall & Tenney Hall 4 Person (2 Premium Singles & 2 Single Rooms)
limited number of suites available
Dammann Hall 6 Person (2 Double Rooms & 2 Single Rooms)
Spellman Hall Option for Premium Singles (A Double Room that is occupied by only one student)

During this process, rising seniors and graduate students select. This phase of selection is completely randomized. We know not everyone wants to clean their bathroom or leave the comforts of Spellman. Not to mention the idea of having a large single is appealing to some students. Because of this, we are offering an opportunity for you as an upper-division students to live in a Spellman room as a premium single. If you are looking for a suite, you must have enough people to fill the suite in order to select it.

During this process, roommate groups of 2, 3, 4 or 6, must fill the entire suite (both bedrooms in Founder's Hall, all 4 Bedrooms in Dammann Hall & Tenney Hall). In the case that there is not a suite for your group size, you will need to reconfigure your roommate group on myHousing. Please make sure to have an alternative plan for your roommate group. Roommate groups of 1 or 5 will not be able to select during this time, as they cannot completely fill any suite on campus (Dammann, Tenney, or Founder's).
