Believed to be the first such certificate in New York State, and one of only a handful in the nation; giving teachers strategies to teach children with the most common language-based learning disability, dyslexia

Cindy Long Porter, Ed.D., to lead as Vice President for the division Manhattanville College today announced the creation of a distinct Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Division to be led by Cindy Porter, Ed.D., as Vice President. The new division and Dr. Porter's role is a testament to the college's commitment to its ongoing efforts to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion on its campus.

Manhattanville College will host its new play reading series, “Fresh Ink,” on April 5, 2023, in the Founder’s Ex Theatre at Manhattanville College, 2900 Purchase Street, Purchase, NY. Held annually, Fresh Ink gives undergraduate and graduate students, regardless of degree or program, the opportunity to present new plays, screenplays, musicals, and other dramatic texts. Presenters can gather feedback from the audience as they continue to develop their scripts. At the same time, performing arts students can audition and gain valuable experience in the early stages of a show’s development, which is uncommon within the bounds of a traditional performing arts program.

Manhattanville College saw a 15 percent increase in new student enrollment during its spring semester in part due to a host of new programs that illustrate new trends in education.

The Manhattanville College Musical Theatre program will present its spring 2023 musical, “Something Rotten!” to a sold-out house of nearly 500 this weekend. The production will run Thursday, February 23 through Sunday, February 26 in the Little Theatre at Manhattanville College, 2900 Purchase Street, Purchase, NY.

All four of the Manhattanville College winter sport teams have secured home playoff games. The women's and men's basketball and hockey teams will be competing throughout the week for their championship titles. This is the first time since 2009 that all of the Manhattanville College winter teams will be at home for their conference tournaments.

With a clear focus on the future, Manhattanville College today announced a series of steps that will reshape its academic programs to align with the interests and goals of today’s students while remaining true to its founding principles and spirit.

The India Cultural Center (ICC) will present The Global War of Storytelling, a conversation with writers Suketu Mehta and Karan Mahajan on Thursday, November 10 at 7pm hosted by the Manhattanville College MFA in Writing Program. The event will take place in Reid Castle at Manhattanville College with an author’s reception immediately following. The event is free and open to the public.

Manhattanville College School of Nursing and Health Science’s Radiologic Technology program has been awarded an 8-year accreditation, the maximum duration allowed, by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT).

PURCHASE, N.Y. - Manhattanville College has been selected to receive a grant of $997,439 from the New York State Office of Strategic Workforce Development (OSWD) and the State University of New York (SUNY). The grant will fund the proposal, “Teaching Assistant to Teacher of Record: Investing in Our Local Workforce,” as part of the Education Workforce Investment Alternative Teacher Certification Program, over a four-year period beginning in July of this year.
