Program Overview
The interdisciplinary Bachelor of Arts in Public Health program at Manhattanville equips undergraduates with the knowledge and skills to analyze and contribute to public and population health policies. Through an interdisciplinary curriculum, students explore the determinants of health and disease at local, regional, and global levels.
The program provides a strong foundation in scientific and policy approaches to public health management. Its skills-based core develops problem-solving abilities and critical thinking methods, preparing students for meaningful careers in public health.
The Bachelor of Arts in Public Health approaches the study of public health from a variety of disciplinary perspectives including biology, psychology, sociology, and environmental studies. Requirements for the public health major include:
- First-Year Program and general education courses
- Introduction to Public Health, Epidemiology, Health Communications, and Health and Environment.
- Internship/Practicum
- Skills-based courses in interdisciplinary thinking, data and information literacy, and storytelling
- Electives to complete 120 credits for Bachelor of Arts
