Manhattanville College 182nd Commencement Ceremonies for Class of 2023
Leaders in education, DEI, and finance to address graduates including Congressman Jamaal Bowman; Honorary degrees to be awarded to NYS Commissioner of Education Betty A. Rosa, Ed.D., former Manhattanville Board Member Mary Cooper and Board Chair Emeritus Dwight Hilson, Trustee Linda Kirkpatrick, and Ball State administrator Jason Rivera
PURCHASE, NY, May 8 - Manhattanville College will hold its 182nd annual commencement ceremonies this week. In two ceremonies, Manhattanville will honor the Class of 2023. Close to 700 degrees will be conferred with more than 400 graduates walking across the stage on Manhattanville's beautiful campus quad.
The cermonies will take place at Manhattanville, 2900 Purchase St., Purchase, NY, on Thursday, May 11, 6 p.m. for Graduate/Doctoral and Saturday, May 13, 10 a.m. for Undergraduate.
The keynote speaker for the Graduate ceremony is Alumna and Trustee Linda Kirkpatrick, president of North America for Mastercard who will also receive an honorary degree. The keynote speaker for the Undergraduate ceremony is alumnus Jason Rivera, Ph.D., Associate Vice Provost of Student Success and Dean of University College at Ball State University who helped shift the Manhattanville campus to a more inclusive community becoming the first Afro-Latino and openly gay student government president in the school’s history. Rivera will also receive an honorary degree. Honorary degrees will also be awarded to NYS Commissioner of Education Dr. Betty A. Rosa, and alums and former Manhattanville Board members Mary Cooper (posthumously) and Dwight Hilson.
Congressman Jamaal Bowman, a 2019 graduate of the doctoral program in educational leadership at Manhattanville, will make a special guest appearance at Saturday’s ceremony to address the graduates. Last year, Bowman was the Honorary Degree Recipient and keynote speaker for the Manhattanville graduate ceremony.
