PURCHASE, NY, September 2024 – Manhattanville University has been included in the latest annual list of America’s Top Colleges from Forbes. The list includes 500 schools that were selected due to their ability to produce successful, high-earning and influential graduates from all economic backgrounds, with less student debt.

“We are incredibly honored to be included on the Forbes list of America’s Top Colleges,” said Manhattanville University President Frank D. Sánchez, Ph.D. “This distinction reflects the continued dedication of our students, faculty, and staff. We always strive for academic excellence, innovation, and a learning experience that prepares students for successful careers.”

Forbes uses 14 metrics to determine which American colleges and universities offer the best educational, financial, and career outcomes for students. The list of the top 500 colleges was winnowed down from an initial list of thousands of institutes of higher learning, including doctoral research universities, master’s universities and colleges and baccalaureate colleges, as well as colleges that offered specialized programs in engineering, business and art. Schools were evaluated using data from two federal education databases; the software and data company Payscale; the public policy think tank Third Way; the National Center for Science and Engineering Statistics; and some of Forbes’ own lists. Colleges were ranked using measures including alumni salary, student debt, graduation rate, the Forbes American Leaders List, return on investment, retention rate, and academic success.

This year marks the first time Manhattanville has been recognized by the Forbes list, which ranked the university at 396 on the list. The Forbes list noted Manhattanville’s 45 undergraduate majors and minors and 75 graduate degrees; opportunity for students to design their own majors; more than 45 clubs and organizations on campus; 100 study abroad opportunities; and athletic teams that compete in the NCAA’s Division III.
